Thanks for visiting my website.
Alot of people have been asking me what I'm up to. Of course, I answer "6 foot". Yuk Yuk.
All yuks aside, I did a small recording project at the end of the summer and this is what you are hearing now. The Cowboy Jazz project consist of a bunch of originals that I have been working on for the past year.
Back in Boston in the 70's, "cowboy jazz" was a term used for some tunes and/or artists who were breaking with tradition and not in the cookie cutter mold of bebop or straightahead jazz. I had this style in mind when putting this project together.
The band includes Nodar Rode on drums, Roy Suter on keyboard, Keith Dorgan on vibes and Stuart Grant on bass. It is a little rough around the edges - we didn't have much rehearsal time. Roy was sitting in for the first time that day. Rough and raw - cowboy jazz!
The groovy MP3 player on the left side of the screen has a playlist of tunes that you can select to hear. These include tunes from the project.
You can now download selected tunes to your PC or iPod. Just click on the Music page.
And I've been dabbling in some computer geek music as well. If you haven't seen Musical Life yet - check it out. I've added a musical interface to the classic John Conway's Game of Life. You can install Life as your screensaver (to really annoy your office neighbors, leave the sound on when you go to lunch). So if you have Windows, NET 2.0 and a sound card, you can turn your PC into a lean mean green celluar automation machine.
